Sleep Disorders
“Each night, when I go to sleep, I die. And the next morning, when I wake up, I am reborn.”
― Mahatma Gandhi
Sleep helps us on many levels. It restores our energy and allows our body to go into repair mode, as well as giving our mind time to integrate what it has learnt and process information. It is normal to have periods of poor sleep while under extra stress or with environmental changes, however when poor sleep continues for more than a few weeks, it may be time to seek help.
At Newtown Acupuncture, we use acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine to help with a restful nights sleep. Some common patterns we see in the clinic are
- Post traumatic stress/ mental tension/ mood related poor sleep
- Menopausal hot flushes and insomnia
- Injury/ pain related poor sleep
- Snoring/ Obstructive Sleep Apnea
Regardless of whether you know the causes of your poor sleep, we can offer some help. Acupuncture and Evergreen Chinese herbal formula are considered safe to take alongside conventional sleep medications, but talk to our team and your GP or a pharmacist if you are unsure.
